About
I am an Associate Professor of English and Women's Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. A native of Australia, I received my Ph.D in 1998 from the University of New South Wales. My research interests include psychoanalytic and post-structuralist feminist thought, particularly the work of Luce Irigaray, and postcolonial theory, particularly Frantz Fanon and Gayatri Spivak. My book, _The Signifying Body: Toward an Ethics of Sexual and Racial Difference_ ,was published by SUNY Press in 2008. I am currently at work on a book which revists the question of the female gaze in relation to ethics in contemporary film.
